We take the ferry to Helsinki for a day trip, since it was just 2h away. Many Estonians actually make the daily connection to Finlands capital as the salaries are way better including a fully covered health insurance for all the family. The city was clean, calm but nearly as expensive as Norway! The old centre held its classical style of the 18th c. with some old houses remaining from that era. The summer season is on, with tourists flocking the markets, strawling along the and taking small ferries to the tiny islands around.. Hard to imagine the freezing winter here! The city also has a modern side with fashion at the center of people's interest and mind boggling statues and buildings at various places. We finish our trip on the ferry back to Tallinn with Estonians giving an unforgettable karaoke performance on stage, wasted drunk.. Not to miss should you want to laugh with tears flowing.. :)
